About Me
Sonam and Paras Modi share their marriage mantra…

We met at a common friend’s wedding in Lonavla, after which we started meeting almost twice a week with friends. We got along like a house on fire; it felt so comfortable talking to each other, it was like we were long lost friends. The initial courtship felt more like a game of hide and seek. Modern twist to Indian wedding floral decor

As the use of flowers have been prominent in Indian weddings, here are the reasons why marigolds are most preferred in the floral décor of Indian weddings and how current trends only add to its traditional appeal

Despite contemporary floral inspirations, when it comes to bridal décor, nothing spells Indianness quite like genda phool. Srishti Kapur, Floral Designer and Co-founder of Floral Art, shares, “The colours of the marigold are very significant when it comes to weddings in India. White represents purity and peace, yellow symbolises sanctity, saffron is the sacred colour, while the brighter orange represents courage and sacrifice.” Besides its standing as an auspicious flower, marigold is known for its affordability. Anuja Joshi, Marketing Director, Interflora India, explains, “It is available in abundance and makes for a vibrant setup. Marigolds are also suited to Indian climate and hence, last longer.”

Floral wedding décor at its best

When it comes to wedding décor, floral accents are known to steal the show. Flowers have been a significant part of Indian weddings and they have always turned venues into works of art

The timeless beauty of natural blooms at once brings to mind romance and intimacy like no other element. It’s what makes floral décor such a popular and evergreen theme at a wedding—large or small. Often, flowers are used to transform a space and Dreamzkraft was able to show just what’s possible with an abundance of it. For instance, lush blooms overflowed across dinner tables to soften even the most rustic of spaces. Trishant Sidhwani, Partner, Dreamzkraft, tells, “For their décor, the couple wanted flowers, so we painted each canvas with more flowers. For instance, we created a floral cloud for the reception and a floral ceiling for the sangeet.”
