Stay fashionable at a summer wedding with these outfit ideas tailored to suit your needs
It’s not all rainbows and sunshine at a summer wedding for a guest. As exciting as it sounds, dressing for a summer wedding can be also quite tricky. Keeping in mind the hot summer days, the venue and the theme of the wedding, here are some outfit ideas to choose from:
Blast from the past
Have you been invited to a vintage-themed wedding? Well, you can bring the ‘40s back to the wedding with a sense of traditionalism. Remember to pick a midi-length dress, where the hem ends midway between your knees and ankles, with lace for the perfect touch of vintage delicacy. To make your ensemble more feminine, pair it with some pearl earrings, hard-shell clutch and kitten heels. Complete your look with some glam by styling your hair in pin curls.
Neon on the rise
If you choose to wear a neon dress of any shade—be it hot pink, electric blue or acid green—make sure to keep the silhouette minimalistic and simple. For example, while donning a tangerine slip dress, accentuate the colour with accessories in neutral tones of cream or metallic.
A floral-patterned wrap dress or maxi dress is always a classic for a summer wedding. If its’s a wrap dress, either pick from puff or quarter length sleeves, while you can go for single-strapped sleeves for a maxi dress. Team your floral dress with some wedges or even stone-encrusted flats and you’re good to go!
Asymmetrical dresses are all the rage this season and ideal for a glamourous summer wedding. With clean cuts that feature avant-garde styles, choose a statement colour for the dress; it could be bold red or royal purple, classic black or timeless white. Flaunt your neckline by wearing a one-shouldered silhouette with a split up the thigh, either on the side or front, for a flattering look.
