Blown over by Sonakshi Sinha’s boldly feminine and nuanced look? Here’s your cheat sheet to acing this look for your next celebration
FRESH IS MORE
To get Sonakshi camera-ready, make-up artist Heema Dattani focussed on creating a ‘no make-up’ look. With fresh-faced glamour still in demand, it was only natural for Dattani to choose a luminous finish. Revealing more, she shares,“I wanted her skin to look healthy and exude a natural flush while maintaining her skin’s inherent glow.As a bride, it is important to understand the needs of your skin and do whatever it takes to maintain its health—from keeping it well hydrated and moisturised to relying on home remedies that suit you.The healthier your skin looks, the better it will glow on your big day.” Glow is the big beauty buzzword for the season and so, a luminosity-boosting primer and a dewy light-to-medium coverage foundation are what you need to achieve a flawless base.
EYE AND MIGHTY
Dattani added a welcome pop of colour to the overall look by focusing on Sonakshi’s eyes. To mirror the vivid tones of the garments, she created a dramatic palette featuring shades of yellow, blue and green for a tantalising effect. Dattani elaborates, “I wanted to tie in the colours of the garments with the make-up. As a result,I opted for a shimmery wash of gold on the lids and topped it with bold sweeps of green and blue eyeliner.” Eyeshadow bearing rich jewel tones complement Indian complexion beautifully while adding instant glamour to a look.
TRIAL AND TEXTURE
The intense colours were complemented by hairstyles that relied on volume and texture. From ultra-chic loose waves to tightly coiled strands, Sonakshi’s hair was styled by Madhuri Nakhale, who wanted to emulate the glamour and shine seen in the garments and make-up.
