There are countless ways in which a groom can contribute to the planning of his wedding. Here’s how Harshit Jain planned his larger-than-life outdoors sangeet
In 2014, the world witnessed one of the most talked-about weddings of all time—that of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. West’s active, hands-on role in the planning process—from the white floral wall to the musical performances and even the bridesmaids’ dresses—earned him the title of groomzilla.
While not all grooms maybe as involved as him, there’s plenty one can do to find a balance between being a groomzilla and having a nonchalant attitude.
Harsh Jain, a nature enthusiast, wanted to plan his sangeet the moment he found out it was going to be held outdoors. “After a series of long discussions with our wedding planners, F5 Weddings, we chose to create a magical, larger-than-life ambience, with trees covered in fairy lights.
For the stage backdrop, we installed an LED screen to project images of greenery.
For our entry into the venue, I arranged an ATV (all-terrain vehicle). We set up an entrance pathway called ‘Celebrity Walk’ so that our guests could enjoy being a part of this flamboyant experience.
Automated cameras with flashlights— complemented by clicking sounds—were installed to click pictures of the guests, as they walked the red carpet.”
