Claire and Sid first met on a flight to India. They were later introduced to each other by common friends and the rest is history. Photographer Neha Basu of Neha Brackstone Photography, who documented the nuptials and executed the pre-wedding shoot, describes the destination wedding, “Claire is American and Sid is Indian, so they decided to host a white wedding and a traditional Hindu ceremony. The couple selected Jodhpur for its amazing locations and rich history. The white wedding ceremony was held at WelcomHeritage Bal Samand Lake Palace.
The outdoor venue was decorated with flowers, with orchids suspended from trees and cycles and birdcages covered with blossoms. The highlight was the main altar designed from an old log of wood, which had sentimental value for the family. Fairy lights adorned the floral backdrop and set the mood for the occasion. It all led to a special moment—the couple’s first dance as newly-weds beneath a starlit sky.”
The traditional Hindu ceremony was held at the Umaid Bhawan Palace. Set up outdoors, the mandap featured red and white floral décor, while the indoor dining hall was decorated with a massive floral peacock and elegant table settings.
PRO TIP: For the pre-wedding shoot, Brackstone recommends comfortable clothing that allows you to have fun and enjoy your time together.
