About Me
Kalki through the looking-glass

As we entered Amy Billimoria’s House of Design in Juhu, Mumbai, we knew we were not in Kansas anymore. The store exudes a happy feeling. From the décor of the store to the clothes housed within it, we could tell that this was going to be a departure from a traditional bridal makeover.

About Me
Sonam and Paras Modi share their marriage mantra…

We met at a common friend’s wedding in Lonavla, after which we started meeting almost twice a week with friends. We got along like a house on fire; it felt so comfortable talking to each other, it was like we were long lost friends. The initial courtship felt more like a game of hide and seek. We didn’t want to tell people yet as we were still getting to know each other.

Roshan and Shaheen Abbas share the secret of their successful marriage

Roshan and Shaheen Abbas share the secret of their long-lasting marriage

Shaheen says…

Flying High

We met on flight; I was a flight purser and it was Roshan’s first flight. He was pretty famous then and our first conversation, I remember, was when I asked him if he was a frequent flier because he looked familiar. Being the humble man that he is, he replied in the affirmative. Six months later we met again on another flight, this time he addressed me by my name and that caught my attention.

Bold and beautiful à la Malaika Arora

Malaika speaks about balancing multiple roles of being an actor, model, VJ, reality show judge, anchor, dancing diva, producer in her career spanning over two decades

On being our covergirl…

I absolutely loved the cover shoot. For me, a bride is synonymous with a white wedding gown, so this was a complete sidestep from that notion of mine and I loved the way designers Rimple and Harpreet used colour and fabric to tap into the free-spirited bride. This shoot was a complete departure from my everyday personal style.

Huma Qureshi: Whether you’re curvy or dusky, you will always be bracketed

From playing unconventional roles to being comfortable in her skin, Huma Qureshi opens her heart in a candid interview

Honestly for an actor, it’s all about the debut and while some enter tinsel town as protagonists backed by production houses, others walk the gruelling path and do the unexpected and unconventional. Think of Mohsina Hamid from Gangs of Wasseypur-Part 1 (2012). Huma Qureshi, a name unknown then, soon came to be the breath of fresh air. After working in projects like Gangs of Wasseypur-II (2012), Dedh Ishqiya (2014) and Badlapur (2015), she proved she wasn’t going to merely play the pretty damsel in distress. But was she here to stand out for the sake of being different? Here, she puts all our doubts to rest.

On The Movie Star Life…

My journey, as an actor, has been one akin to what dreams are made of. Striving to carve a niche for myself, steering clear of mediocrity, being patient, persistent and mostly, believing in myself—all of this has led the way for me, and I feel very privileged to be a part of the magic that is cinema.

Kalki through the looking glass

Actor Kalki Koechlin is the sum and substance of a true artiste; one who trod down the rabbit hole and found a little more than just wonderland

When Kalki sets forth her thoughts on love and marriage, the dialogue begins with slapstick humour: “Can I be on the cover of Femina Wedding Times and not believe in marriage?” She follows that up with an infectious laugh. With that, the mood for our conversation is set.

Up, close and personal with Nimrat Kaur

Nimrat Kaur has made her mark on the silver screen in Bollywood as well as well as Hollywood. Here she bares her soul for Femina Wedding Times

Humble Beginnings…

When I started off, I was out there—minding my own business, trying to make a living for myself. Be it theatre, ad films or music videos—I was happy in my corner doing what I wanted to do and getting paid to do something that I loved. I existed like a nameless face, but thankfully for me it’s been a win–win from the word go. Ever since my arrival on the scene with The Lunchbox, I’ve had people ask me ‘Where have you been’, and genuinely treat me well.

Falguni and Shane Peacock on being friends forever

The designer couple is a firm believer in the principle of yin and yang and owning their differences like bosses, Falguni shares the secrets

The Love Story
Ours isn’t a big movie kind of love story. We were and are very simple people and that is how this story started too. It all began when Shane was working on some design sketches and wanted someone to paint them. With our professional relationship, even our friendship began to develop. “One fine evening after dropping me home, my mother asked Shane to join us for a cup of coffee and asked him about his thoughts on marriage,” she says, letting slip that it was her mother who actually broached the subject for them. Rather courteously, Shane told my mother that he needed some time to think. “In ever gave it much thought at the time because of our backgrounds—he’s Christian and I’m Gujarati, so I assumed my mom wouldn’t agree.” But 15 years later, here we are, happy in love and parents to a beautiful daughter, Nian.

Friendship and spontaneity define model-turned-actor Dipannita Sharma’s relationship with her businessman husband Dilsher Singh Atwal

It all began two months after Dipannita Sharma met Dilsher Singh Atwal for the first time in Kolkata in October 2006. “We hadn’t even exchanged numbers,” Sharma remembers. They spoke for over an hour, and the rest, as they say, is history.
