We got along like a house on fire; it felt so comfortable talking to each other, it was like we were long lost friends. The initial courtship felt more like a game of hide and seek. At last, the day you’ve been waiting for with bated breath is here. You try putting on your blouse and—oh no! It doesn’t fit. Scared this might happen right before your wedding? Don’t worry, there’s still time to fix things. Read on to find out how you can flaunt your best side at your wedding.

Diet treats

Everyone knows the benefits of eating healthy for skin and hair, but we often underestimate how important it is for the body as well. Begin your day with a glass of warm water with honey and lemon. Throughout the day, keep yourself hydrated with at least 2 litres of water. Often you feel hungry only because you haven’t had enough water. No matter how difficult it may be, throw away any food containing processed sugar (yes that includes all chocolate items) and make fruits like orange, banana and papaya are your best friends. Greens never go out of trend in food so ensure that you consume leafy vegetables like spinach and kale. The best way to incorporate these into your diet is by adding them to your morning smoothie.

Routine fit

Chart out a weekly routine for yourself. While making this, make sure to include some form of cardio activity daily. You could swim, cycle, jog or dance; cardio makes you sweat faster and burns more calories. Simultaneously, keep alternating between target body parts for optimal toning.

Prep to sweat

As most of your workouts will contain high impact moves, starting without properly warming your body up could lead to some serious injuries. To avoid risking a muscle pull, start your workout with series of low impact stretches, gradually moving on to skipping. Doing so will adjust the temperature and heart rate of your body to what’s required. Incorporating a cooldown stretch is essential as it increases the amount of calories burnt even hours after your workout.

Little things

If you are too busy with work to include a workout in your daily routine, try making small adjustments. It could be as simple as doing five squats before sitting down on your chair for a meal, or jumping on the balls of your feet while brushing your teeth.

Fake it till you make it

Be conscious of your posture—don’t slouch. It may seem negligible, but pushing your shoulders back while standing or not hunching over your laptop at work makes you appear a lot more graceful and taller.
